Dating a guy with social anxiety

There are many other terms that are used interchangeably with social anxiety, albeit incorrectly, like shyness or introversion.

These are completely different from social anxiety, as is social anxiety disorder or social phobia.

The guy is always expected to initiate, which means risking rejection and embarrassment. An introverted guy may not know WHERE to begin meeting women. A shy guy may be too sensitive to getting positive signals or “green lights” from a woman before showing her he’s interested by asking her out, asking for her phone number, going for the kiss, etc.

As you can see, social anxiety falls somewhat in the middle of the spectrum, which is why it is so easy to confuse it with something milder like introversion, or something severe like phobia.
